Manufacturing Engineer – MSC

As a Manufacturing Engineer with MSC, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our technical capability and supporting customers across the manufacturing sector. You will apply advanced CAD/CAM expertise, multi‑axis machining knowledge, and process-driven engineering skills to help customers improve productivity, machining accuracy, and overall manufacturing performance.

This role sits at the heart of MSC’s technical value proposition. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver machining optimization, robust programming support, and engineering insight that enhances tool life, reduces cycle times, and improves process reliability.

The Manufacturing Engineering function is evolving to provide industry-leading technical support, combining deep machining expertise with modern digital manufacturing tools. As part of this team, you will directly influence MSC’s ability to deliver best-in-class engineering solutions and strengthen our position as a trusted partner to UK manufacturers.

What will you be doing?

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality manufacturing engineering support across milling, turning, and multi‑axis machining environments. You will apply your programming expertise, machine knowledge, and process-optimization mindset to help customers achieve better accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.

Deliver Machining & Programming Excellence

  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs for 3‑axis and 5‑axis milling, CNC turning, and complex machining applications.
  • Support customers with machine setup optimization, toolpath refinement, and machining strategy improvements.
  • Apply a strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tool engagement, and cutting dynamics to improve tool life and cycle times.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support across milling, turning, and multi‑axis operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
