About The Role
Pertemps Warrington seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent, full-time position in Skelmersdale (WN8 9PP), offering a salary between £50,000 and £52,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Working Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday from 08:00 to 14:30, you will report to the Technical Manager within a skilled international department. This role involves programming, setting up, and optimising machinery to produce high-precision components for the automotive and aerospace sectors. Key duties include delivering quality outputs to automotive standards, collaborating effectively with colleagues, and applying your technical expertise to support high-profile contracts. Prior manufacturing engineering experience is essential for this position.

Reporting to the Technical Manager
You will be part of an existing, highly experienced fast-moving department on an international scale. You will be required to work as a key team player, with direction and motivation being given to achieve internal and external quality expectations to automotive standards.
Your Duties Will Be
- Programme, set up and optimise a range of machine tool controls, including CNC, grinding and milling machines.
- Provide technical training and support to setters and machine operatives, ensuring best practice and process compliance.
- Create and maintain process documentation, including technical drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Manage product development activities from initial enquiry through testing and validation to full-scale production.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures and other production-related equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Work closely with suppliers to enhance product quality, tooling performance and machine capability.
- Support the investigation and resolution of customer quality and production issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive operational excellence.

An ideal Manufacturing Engineer will hold the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience using CAD software, with the ability to create and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proven experience programming and setting sliding head lathes within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Committed to delivering high standards of workmanship while meeting production targets and deadlines.
