Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site Manufacturing Engineer role based in Blackburn. The Manufacturing Engineer will report to the manufacturing manager and will develop, optimize, and document manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry and customer requirements. Daily responsibilities include creating and improving production routings, work instructions, and tooling, supporting machining operations, and resolving technical issues on the shop floor. The role involves collaborating with design, quality, and production teams, performing root cause analysis, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting new product introduction from concept through to full-scale production. The Manufacturing Engineer will also monitor production performance, contribute to cost reduction projects, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

- HND or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or relevant technical subject.
- Ability to visualize novel and complex manufacturing solutions is a prerequisite, ideally coupled with experience of manufacturing system design and discrete event simulation.
- In-depth working knowledge of complex components and processes such as multi-axis conventional and non-conventional machining.
- Working in cross-functional value streams, to manage competing priorities. Excellent stakeholder management, ability to build strong and cohesive working relationships.
- Demonstrating RLC values of integrity, respect, passion, and pride, setting and maintaining high behavioral standards.
- Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing, familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards, and competence with CAD/CAM, such as Siemens NX, and ERP/MRP systems are advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are important.
- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement are expected.
