Production Engineer
Engage Talent Partners are supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing business in Aberdeen to recruit a Production Engineer to join their growing engineering team.
This is a hands-on engineering role, acting as the technical link between the Engineering function and the shop floor. You’ll be involved in resolving in-build manufacturing issues, supporting new and first-time builds, improving manufacturing processes, developing tooling and fixtures, and ensuring products can be manufactured efficiently, consistently and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day technical support to production, troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Support new product introduction, first-time builds and product testing activities.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs and technical documentation to ensure products are suitable for manufacture.
- Develop, improve and implement manufacturing processes and methods.
- Create and update build instructions, assembly procedures and other manufacturing documentation.
- Support the development and improvement of tooling, fixtures, jigs and manufacturing equipment.
- Investigate production issues, non-conformances and process failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Work closely with Design Engineering and Quality to resolve technical issues and improve product manufacturability.
- Support engineering and manufacturing changes through to implementation on the shop floor.
- Make minor updates to engineering drawings/CAD where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve build quality, efficiency, cost and repeatability.
- Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing activities where applicable.

You’ll ideally have experience working directly with production teams and be comfortable getting involved in practical manufacturing problems rather than operating purely in a planning, management or quality capacity.

Experience with first-time builds, FAIR/FAI activities, tooling and fixtures, NPI, engineering drawings, CAD amendments, manufacturing documentation and root-cause problem solving would be highly advantageous.
