About the Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in composite manufacturing to support the production of aerospace components. You will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes, creating work instructions, supporting repairs and rework, troubleshooting production issues and working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions for composite processes, including:
- Layup
- Vacuum bagging
- Curing
- Bonding
- Trimming
- Inspection and assembly
- Create rework and repair instructions for composite components.
- Investigate production issues and carry out root cause analysis.
- Support continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methods.
- Support quality improvements and corrective actions.
- Create and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings using an ERP system.
- Support health and safety requirements relating to composites, resins, solvents, dust, and curing processes.
- Train production technicians on composite manufacturing methods and safe working practices.
- Support design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, and risk assessments.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Required Skills
- 2–4 years' experience within composite manufacturing engineering.
- Experience working within an aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Environment
The role will involve working between an engineering/office environment and the manufacturing floor. You may be required to stand, walk, bend, and work around composite materials, resins, adhesives, solvents, dust, fumes, noise, and curing equipment. Appropriate PPE will be provided where required.
