What to Expect

We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer – Paint (New Model) to join our Manufacturing Engineering department in Woking. As the Manufacturing Engineer you will develop optimal Paint practices and assist with budget implementation. You’ll experience diverse aspects of the business, collaborate with various teams, and contribute to projects from start to finish.

What You'll Do

  • Supporting cross functional Design & Perceived Quality reviews for new models
  • Working with Research & Development (R&D) on new material concepts and technologies
  • Supporting Design Verification Plan (DVP) testing of new substrates
  • Development of new Paint colours, including application sign off
  • Development of Paint application methods, including tooling definition
  • PFMEA
  • DFMEA
  • Facility / Paint Shop capacity planning
  • Facility layout planning
  • Process & Documentation and Product Traceability methodology
  • Hours Per Car generation / reporting
  • Development of Paint application methods, including tooling definition
  • Identifying any part related concerns, including Quality maturation, and escalation

What You'll Bring

A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or similar or equivalent experience in a similar role

Ideally you will have experience with:

  • Paint development & application methodologies
  • Specification and procurement of paint jigs & fixtures
  • Planning and execution of new vehicle programs
  • Complex paint technologies / systems
  • Vehicle assembly processes
  • End of line vehicle processing / finishing
  • Identifying resolutions for product related issues, ensuring all quality targets are achieved
  • Implementation of safe working practices
