Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Sector: CNC manufacturing, precision engineering, CAD/CAM
Location: Middlesbrough area, Teesside
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Visa Support: No, you must have the right to work in the UK
The Role
- Optimisation of production and manufacturing processes and routes
- CAM programming for CNC machines (2,3,4 and 5 axis)
- Design of jigs and fixtures
- Manufacturing Process Planning – Developing the most effective and detailed manufacturing routes for components
- Managing and planning cycle times to ensure costs are in line with estimates
- Investigating cycle time variances and advising on corrective action
- Effective fixture and work holding design
- Producing stage drawings where appropriate
- Leading on process control, working with commercial teams to provide costs in response to quote requests, taking the order when placed and managing all manufacturing and production through to first off product validation
- Leading on investigation of faults, problems, or issues in the manufacturing process

- Good proficiency in CAD modelling software.
- First class CNC programming ability both online and offline with modern CAM packages
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external
- Able to multi-task and manage multiple manufacturing challenges concurrently
- A continuous improvement ethic; six sigma accreditation would be a bonus
- Happy in front of customers, able to explain technical matters clearly and concisely
