Role: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

In the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will lead a technical team responsible to create, maintain and optimize production processes, ensuring high-quality product output, cost efficiency, and safety compliance. You will oversee facility layout, equipment installation, and lean manufacturing initiatives while managing budgets, project timelines, and staff. You will ensure clear and effective communication with other departments such as, safety, quality, production, finance, supply chain, R&D, repair and others.

Your Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Provide inspiring, hands-on leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering team by setting a clear vision, priorities, and performance expectations aligned with plant and business objectives.
    • Focusing on talent development, coach and develop team members through regular feedback, mentoring, and individual development plans to build technical capability and engagement.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety, while ensuring the team has the resources and support needed to deliver results through capability studies and takt analysis.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI)

    • Partner with R&D to provide Design for Manufacturability and process engineering input and ensure products are designed for efficient and scalable production.
    • Lead the industrialization of new products by applying established methods and industrial best practices.
    • Define and maintain the recurring cost (RC) throughout the product lifecycle to ensure sustainable, profitable margins for the company.
  • Production System Management

    • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing systems, including routings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and equipment technical specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with quality standards by delivering effective training to production teams.
    • Diagnose production issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead corrective actions for process or products nonconformities (NC).
    • Develop and drive the sites tooling, colling and OEE strategy to support the Win Strategy.
  • Process Improvement & Optimization

    • Lead lean manufacturing and automation initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to improve productivity and repeatability, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational performance.
    • In collaboration with Production and Operational Excellence (OpEx), design and implement production line layouts to optimize workflow, cycle times, and space utilization.

  • Capital Equipment
    • Own the strategy for capital equipment
    • Drive a capital equipment strategy across multiple production sites by centralizing governance while empowering site-level execution, focusing on asset visibility, risk ranking, and total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) to understand manufacturing processes, tooling, and shop-floor constraints.
  • And /or Relevant experience: 10-15 years in manufacturing/industrial engineering or process engineering, including 5+ years leading teams with demonstrated delivery of process improvements and/or product launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate under aerospace-style requirements (AS9100-level rigor): documentation discipline, special process controls, and customer audit readiness
  • Leadership skills, with demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, or leading engineers.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex technical problems and drive design decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and projects, including cross-functional coordination.
