Manufacturing Engineering Process Specialist (Edgewing)

Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems Air site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. There is a Hybrid Working Policy in place at Edgewing – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Salary: £54,808+ DOE

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineering Process Specialist contributes to the definition, governance, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Engineering processes, standards, and performance across the organisation. Your role assesses compliance, consistency, and high-quality in Manufacturing Engineering outputs. This will include conducting planning, KPI-driven assurance, and structured review and improvement activities.

Your role will be responsible for reviewing Manufacturing Engineering processes to ensure alignment of processes with standardisation requirements and organisational mandates.

Core duties:

  • Contribute to identifying and defining the manufacturing engineering policies/standards and mandates. Subsequently, assess compliance with those, in corporation with the JV ME functional team and engineering team, and PCs and raise any compliance issues with engineering leadership.
  • Conduct manufacturing engineering planning, management and review activities and contribute to the planning of process team activities.
  • Contribute to the definition and review of Manufacturing Engineering quality KPIs across the JV, assessing performance against agreed measures and recommending corrective and preventative actions where required. Collaborate with the JV Manufacturing Engineering functional team, Engineering teams, and Product Centres (PCs) to implement effective improvement and ‘Return to Green’ plans.
  • Assess ME Processes against SEEIG Standardisation outputs in conjunction with the ME Producibility team.
  • Support the coordination of ME process outputs to the Manufacturing Engineering team and PCs.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Engineering within complex, regulated safety critical engineering environments.
  • A working knowledge in engineering process governance and reviews with experience of conducting compliance assurance activities.
  • Experience in assessing performance against KPIs and conducting analysis of performance data.
