The Manufacturing Excellence & CI Manager role will be an integral role within the Andover Supply Centre (Manufacturing Site) Leadership team. Purpose of the role is to lead the manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement agenda to drive a cultural shift towards continuous improvement.
This role is Monday to Friday – 8:30am – 5:00 pm (Flexibility required to reflect needs of the business). Occasional pre-planned contracted weekends shifts in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Creation of long-term Twining Manufacturing Excellence Roadmap and deployment plan in line with Tea Supply Chain Strategy House.
- Lead the execution of Andover Supply Centre CI strategy to achieve year on year and 5 year plan objectives.
- Deploy best-in-class continuous improvement and Lean practices tools kit.
- Create/maintain business processes and rhythms which supports the execution of CI strategy and help maintain the gains/improvements.
- Own the process of loss analysis, gap analysis, action plan creation, projects creation, projects deployment.
- Lead and coach multiple CI projects to improve the site KPI (H&S, Quality, OEE, Cost, Waste).
- Create a right balance between short terms activities vs long term approach.
- Drive continuous improvement culture, developing and coaching the operational teams in continuous improvement and Lean methodologies to achieve best in class performance.
- Drive delivery of TPM programme working along side with Supply Lead and Engineering Manager.
- Driving improvement through coaching in operations review cycles- SIC’s, Daily/Weekly Operations Reviews.
- Benchmark best practises across industry and other ABF, TwO sites.
- Coaching and engaging wider teams (production, quality, engineering) on the usage of problem-solving tools like fishbone, 5why, DEMAIC, SMED, 5S etc.
- Role model data driven approach to problem solving to identify opportunities for improvement within the organization.
- Role modelling to team through demonstration of values, behaviours aligned to our strategic imperatives.
- Participate in creating and delivering operational long-term business strategies. Scoping, delivering Capex projects in line with long term strategy.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Have proven experience (Min 3-5 Years) in the delivery of Continuous Improvement and change projects utilising CI/Lean tools kit, programmes, and initiatives, within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ideally have a Lean Six Sigma- Certified Green Belt.
- Experience of delivering OEE improvement, Waste reduction, process improvement, cost reduction projects.
- TPM Implementation experience. Either in capacity of leading TPM or one of its pillars or being part of TPM implementation.
- Experience of improving operational reviews effectiveness through coaching. SIC’s (Short Interval Control), Daily/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly reviews.
- Have a good understanding of OEE Principles and other performance metrics.
- Be experienced and knowledgeable of data collection systems to capture downtime information and waste information, to analyse data for improvement.
- Be a confident communicator with the ability to have great relationships at all levels.
- Have a collaborative approach championing teamwork.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be flexible between short term right now and long term.
- Be highly resilient and able to effectively persevere where there are challenges, with the ability to deal with ambiguity effectively.
