Job Title
Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be retained by a rapidly growing defence manufacturer in their search for a Manufacturing Manager. As the company are expanding, they're seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to take control of their well equipped manufacturing facility, developing their manufacturing structure, recruiting for new team members and delivering batch orders against the schedule, right first time.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the production schedule across a high volume batch manufacturing environment.
- Own quality of delivery and drive a right first time culture across production.
- Manage and motivate production staff across multiple shifts.
- Own the training and development of production staff, ensuring the team has the skills to operate new and existing equipment safely and effectively.
- Support the phased recruitment of shopfloor staff as production ramps up.
- Work closely with the Senior/Lead Engineer on the commissioning, maintenance and repair of a range of new and existing equipment.
- Continuously look to optimise processes across production, identifying opportunities for improved efficiency, quality and cost.
- Collaborate with other factories internationally to share knowledge and best practice as the site scales its operation.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently adhered to and embedded across the manufacturing operation.
- Report on production performance to the Operations Director and wider leadership team.

Experience required
- Proven experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Operations Manager within a high volume batch manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing manual and semi automatic production lines, ideally with some exposure to robotics or automated equipment.
- A track record of leading teams through periods of growth, new equipment installation, or line commissioning.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to motivate shopfloor teams across multiple shifts.
- Background in defence, aerospace, or another highly regulated manufacturing sector is an advantage, though not essential.
- A hands on, visible leadership style suited to a business scaling from a well established base into a significantly larger operation.
