Manufacturing & Technical Manager
Weston-super-Mare | £45,000-£47,000 + Benefits

We’re looking for an experienced engineering or manufacturing professional who is ready to move into a broader leadership position, taking ownership across technical, manufacturing and supply-chain operations within an established manufacturing environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who may currently be working as an Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer or similar, and is ready to take on greater responsibility and influence at site level.
You’ll play a key role within the management team, turning business and customer requirements into practical operational plans while helping drive improvements across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and product development.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine scope to make an impact.
You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the Technical, Purchasing and Manufacturing functions, working closely with departmental leads and supporting teams to deliver products safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership across Technical, Manufacturing and Purchasing functions
- Supporting and developing technical and manufacturing teams
- Overseeing CAD, engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Supporting product development and design improvements
- Managing engineering changes and technical standards
- Working closely with production to improve efficiency, capacity and quality
- Driving continuous improvement and root-cause problem solving
- Managing supplier performance and supporting purchasing activity
- Ensuring appropriate quality, compliance and traceability standards
- Supporting customer, certification and regulatory audits
- Working with Engineering and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability
- Identifying opportunities to reduce warranty issues, waste and manufacturing costs
- Supporting budgets, forecasting and investment decisions
- Providing technical support to customers, suppliers and internal teams

You'll ideally bring experience of:
- Manufacturing or engineering environments
- CAD and technical drawings
- Product development or engineering change
- Production/manufacturing processes
- Quality and compliance
- Supplier management
- Continuous improvement
- Leading, mentoring or developing teams
Experience with electrical, mechanical or electromechanical products would be advantageous.
