Manufacturing Engineer – Contract
Location: Northern Ireland
Contract: Contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a growing advanced manufacturing environment on a contract basis. The role will focus on supporting the development, industrialisation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for complex composite and metallic assemblies.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and Procurement teams, you will help ensure production processes are efficient, practical and capable of delivering against quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of manufacturing and industrialisation strategies.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for composite and metallic assemblies.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality and cost.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and the introduction of new manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Drive continuous improvement using LEAN and 5S methodologies.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation and manufacturing requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Operations teams.
- Support production planning and ensure manufacturing requirements are clearly understood.
- Monitor manufacturing performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with the implementation of process changes and improvements within the production environment.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet required safety, quality, cost and delivery standards.

About You
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Process Engineer within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
You will ideally have:

- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Experience supporting NPI, industrialisation or production introduction.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
- Experience using LEAN and 5S methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Experience
- Composite manufacturing and assembly experience.
- Experience within a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with metallic assemblies.
- Experience within a start-up, scale-up or high-growth manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions and production documentation.
