Manufacturing Operations Manager

Intro

This is a high-impact leadership role with full ownership of manufacturing performance, financial results, and team development within a regulated environment. You will shape how products are made, how people are developed, and how operational excellence is delivered every day. It's an opportunity to lead with purpose, influence site strategy, and drive measurable results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead and direct day-to-day manufacturing operations to deliver safe, compliant, on-time, and cost-effective production aligned to customer demand and business targets.
  • Own full profit and loss responsibility for the manufacturing area, including budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, operating expenses, and capital investment.
  • Drive operational excellence by deploying lean manufacturing principles, daily management systems, standard work, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve performance targets across safety, quality, delivery, cost, efficiency, and engagement.
  • Establish, track, and review operational performance metrics; identify trends and implement corrective actions to close gaps against agreed targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, quality, and environmental health and safety requirements, including active leadership in internal, external, corporate, and regulatory audits.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support capacity planning, new product introductions, and process changes, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors and production planning resources through structured performance management, training, and succession planning.
  • Contribute to site strategic planning and lead operational improvement projects; deputise for the Site Lead as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
