Job Description

Salary up to £50,000 (incl. 20% shift allowance) depending on experience

Renishaw has a requirement for a New Products Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of new products into a highly complex and challenging precision manufacturing environment.

The role will be responsible for developing robust and efficient manufacturing processes for new and developing products, working closely with Design, Production, Quality and other engineering teams from early development through to production handover. This will include providing Design for Manufacture (DFM) input, developing manufacturing strategies and processes, supporting prototype and pre-production builds, and ensuring products are ready for repeatable manufacture.

The successful candidate will also drive improvements in quality, product cost, process capability, efficiency, lead time and waste reduction, while ensuring appropriate manufacturing documentation, process controls and technical knowledge are in place before handover to Production.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing engineering support throughout the New Product Introduction process, from early DFM through to production handover.
  • Introduction and development of robust manufacturing processes and associated production documentation.
  • Development of manufacturing strategies to achieve required quality, cost, capability, lead time and capacity.
  • Support of prototype and pre-production builds, including process proving and optimisation.
  • Investigation of manufacturing problems and root cause analysis, with implementation of robust corrective actions.
  • Analysis of process performance data to identify and deliver continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with Design, Production, Quality and supporting functions to ensure new products are ready for repeatable manufacture.
  • Support the effective handover of new products and manufacturing processes into Production.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
