Manufacturing Project Engineer – Newcastle

CDM Recruitment are working with a leading global engineering organisation to recruit a Manufacturing Project Engineer for their Newcastle facility. This is a varied role focused on engineering improvement projects across manufacturing operations, particularly around the final preparation and packing of large engineered products.

The Role

  • Lead and support manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Map processes and identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification and efficiency improvements.
  • Apply Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Produce and update AutoCAD layouts and technical documentation.
  • Develop SOPs, work standards, design rules and process documentation.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors.
  • Support manufacturing readiness, risk reviews and engineering change.
  • Use structured problem solving to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Support improvements to how large products and materials move through the facility.

About You

We're interested in engineers with:

  • Experience within manufacturing or engineering.
  • Project engineering and/or continuous improvement experience.
  • Process mapping and Lean/CI knowledge.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Strong stakeholder and project coordination skills.
  • Experience delivering against challenging project schedules.

Experience within heavy engineering, offshore, subsea, marine or large-scale manufacturing would be beneficial, as would an awareness of heavy lifting/material handling, but direct logistics or subsea experience is not essential.
