Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Bedfordshire

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
37.5 Hours per Week | 4-Day Week (Monday to Thursday)

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer looking to work on complex engineering programmes within a highly regulated environment?
We're supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to drive quality excellence across production activities, ensuring products meet both customer and regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and programme teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining product quality, managing non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate Control Plans from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Manage the non-conformance process from containment and quarantine through to Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Participate in design and drawing reviews to ensure quality requirements are effectively captured.
  • Support quality investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing quality performance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

About You

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance principles and quality management systems.
  • Experience managing non-conformances and conducting Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience working within an AS9100-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience with Control Plans and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Aerospace, Defence, or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
  • SAP or ERP system experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement knowledge.
  • Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
