Job Description Summary
Our North Europe Rotating Machinery business is entering an exciting period of growth. With annual revenues expected to more than double by 2030, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Rugby operation at a pivotal time and play a key role in supporting both current manufacturing performance and future expansion.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations on a twilight shift Monday – Thursday 2.30pm – 00.45am. This role is vital in ensuring that all core production activities relating to rotating equipment are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, while meeting delivery and productivity targets. Your expertise and leadership will help drive a strong culture of continuous improvement and ensure effective quality controls are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
Please note that you will be required to work Monday to Friday on day shift for the first 6 months while completing training, before moving to a twilight shift pattern of Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm to 12:45am.
This role would suit an experienced leader from a heavy industrial, manufacturing, production, or complex engineering background who has successfully led teams through change, transformation, or expansion activity, and who is comfortable embracing new technologies while coaching and developing others.
Job Description
- Lead and supervise daily production activities to deliver manufacturing schedules and achieve monthly output targets.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and site standards.
- Ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards and specifications.
- Allocate work effectively and optimise labour and resource to maximise operational efficiency.
- Monitor production performance, track key metrics, and support cost control in line with budget targets.
- Drive performance against safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
- Support safety and quality audits, reporting requirements, and stock movement activities across the operation.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Fulfilment, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to meet operational and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, quality, and team performance.
- Support the investigation and resolution of internal quality concerns in collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
- Lead Lean and operational excellence initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and process improvement activities.
- Coach, develop, and support production employees through regular feedback, skills development, and performance management.
- Manage employee relations matters in partnership with HR where appropriate.
- Coordinate temporary agency labour and contractor activity in line with operational and site requirements.
- Provide operational support and cover for colleagues as required.
- Complete production reporting and other administrative or management duties as needed.
- Ensure all activities are carried out with appropriate consideration for health, safety, environmental impacts.

Essential Candidate Criteria
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, engineering, or industrial environment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or production setting.
- Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet operational deadlines.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across different functions and levels of the business.
- Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing or operational systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership and initiative.
- Attention to detail in reporting, documentation, and operational compliance.
- Able to work a twilight shift Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm to 12:45am.

Desirable Candidate Criteria
