Manufacturing Team Leader
Location: Cardiff (including National travel once trained)
Salary: £15.76 per hour
Overview: First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Manufacturing Team Leader Assistant on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will support the Team Leader in ensuring that all orders are manufactured on time and to the expected high standards, whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies. You will also support KPI and data reporting, assist with the day-to-day manufacturing process and be available to cover production stations when required. You will be required to work Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm. You will also be required to travel to site & stay overnight, once trained.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure all manufacturing quality is maintained to the expected high standard and required deadlines are met.
- Ensure all relevant quality paperwork is completed and maintained.
- Continuously drive the team to maximise output and efficiency.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to support cultural change and embrace ongoing improvements and efficiencies.
- Minimise labour costs where possible whilst achieving manufacturing requirements.
- Work with the Team Leader to ensure the correct utilisation of manpower across the business.
- Ensure operator training is completed when required and signed off on time.
- Continuously look for opportunities to reduce scrap levels.
- Generate and implement initiatives that drive improvements.
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and work areas are clean and free of debris.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to ensure RAMS are explained and signed off by the relevant personnel as required.
- Ensure all data reports and KPIs are completed accurately and on time to drive efficiencies.
- Conduct consumable stock checks and ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Work closely with the Team Leader to manage employees in relation to HR activities, including holidays, absence and lateness.
- Support the Team Leader with investigations and disciplinary processes where required.
- Be able to step into the Team Leader position to provide cover when required.
- Ensure all quality issues are dealt with and reported appropriately.
- Support the manufacturing process and cover production stations when required.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks assigned by your manager or supervisor.
- Ensure compliance concerns, issues and failures are reported.
- Participate in training as required.
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
- Follow all instructions, training and company safety policies and procedures at all times.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous manufacturing knowledge and experience is essential.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft programmes and SAP.
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills.
- A positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
- Previous experience of Return to Work (RTW) processes and investigations would be advantageous.
- Previous leadership experience would be advantageous.
- FLT licence is preferable but not essential.
- A willingness to be flexible regarding working hours.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the Team Leader.
- Ability to step into a Team Leader position when required.
