Manufacturing Team Manager

North Devon based

Copello are partnering with a leading global manufacturing business to recruit a Manufacturing Team Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production or operations professional looking to lead a high-performing manufacturing team within a fast-paced engineering environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a defined production area, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in driving operational performance, developing teams, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across your designated production area.
  • Manage, coach and develop both hourly and salaried team members, ensuring resources are effectively aligned to production demand.
  • Drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a positive safety culture, ensuring best practice is embedded across the production environment.
  • Deliver against key operational KPIs, including productivity, quality, on-time delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste and increase performance.
  • Work closely with maintenance and facilities teams to maximise equipment availability and plant performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, engaged and high-performing team culture by recognising success, developing capability and empowering individuals to make decisions.
  • Provide clear leadership, direction and support to achieve business objectives.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • A degree qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or operations leadership role.
  • Experience managing, coaching and developing production teams.
  • A strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies, including tools such as 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and Visual Management.
  • Proven problem-solving experience using structured improvement techniques such as A3 or 8D.
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.
  • A proactive approach with a genuine passion for developing people and driving positive change.
