About The Role
Based in Birmingham, this 12-month temporary contract offers a Manufacturing Technician up to £13.53 per hour, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 until 16:30. We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your workload against daily and weekly production plans.
- Ensure materials and inventory are available to complete manufacturing activities.
- Carry out scheduled tasks within designated production areas.
- Support the manufacture and testing of product components.
- Assist in routine team training activities where required.
- Complete production and testing activities accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Candidate Requirements
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant manufacturing, laboratory, production, or similar experience is desirable.
- Previous laboratory experience is preferred.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Comfortable following detailed instructions and procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Basic mathematical skills and understanding of measurements.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Working Environment
This role is based within a manufacturing and laboratory setting and may involve:
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Handling materials, solutions, and chemicals safely.
- Following health, safety, and quality procedures at all times.
- Lifting items up to 20kg when required.
- Occasional overtime, including weekends, to support operational needs.
