Manufacturing Technician Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Technician to join a manufacturing engineering team, taking ownership of production processes and equipment to drive improvements across the manufacturing lines while developing new skills and techniques.
This role performs the duties of manufacturing problem identification and resolution, industrial validation support, and manufacturing documentation control, and works closely with the Principal Engineer, coordinating day-to-day support to operations staff and contributing to future opportunities within manufacturing architecture and factory of the future principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction
- Supporting the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, process proving activities and similar methods
- Managing configuration control through the embodiment of design modifications into manufacturing documentation and industrial validation
- Supporting the non-conformance process
- Ensuring products are produced with consideration to safety, efficiency and economic factors
- Assuming responsibility for safe operating implementation of changed processes, including liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE and human factors specialists
- Liaising with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase, to ensure optimised Design for Manufacture (DfM)
- Compiling and updating Manufacturing Instructions while maintaining production BOMs
- Developing and controlling tooling

The Ideal Candidate
- A formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3, plus formal further education to Level 4 (HNC) or equivalent in a relevant subject, OR a Degree in a relevant subject
- A proactive approach to problem solving and a commitment to meeting delivery milestones
- The ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions
- The ability to work within and contribute effectively to a team environment
