Location: Cambridge, CB4 0WN

Salary: Competitive, DOE + Excellent Benefits

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (8:00am to 6:00pm), with occasional overtime and weekend working. This is an on-site role.

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join our Operations Team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of advanced manufacturing, helping to build world-class products in a modern Lean Manufacturing environment.

Working within a clean room setting, you will be involved in the assembly, inspection, testing and analysis of precision micro-components, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, process development and prototype projects.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will play a key role in the manufacture of highly specialised products used in mission-critical applications around the world.

You will work closely with engineers, production teams and cross-functional departments to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, inspect and test precision micro-components and finished products within a clean room environment.
  • Build product sub-assemblies and final units to specification.
  • Operate, monitor and adjust production equipment to ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, process and product issues.
  • Support prototype builds, new product introductions and process development activities.
  • Calibrate equipment and carry out inspections using precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation and tracking systems.
  • Prepare materials for manufacture and manage inventory requirements.
  • Package finished products and support production planning to meet delivery schedules.
  • Create and maintain standard work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, organised work area in line with Health & Safety and 5S standards.

About You

We're looking for a practical, motivated individual with a strong eye for detail and a passion for quality.

You'll ideally have experience within a manufacturing, engineering, electronics, optical, aerospace or precision assembly environment, although candidates with transferable technical skills are also encouraged to apply.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong practical and hands-on technical skills.
  • Experience following and implementing manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • The ability to interpret engineering information and technical documentation.
  • Experience creating or following work instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, MES systems or similar manufacturing software.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute ideas that improve quality, efficiency and yield.
