Marcus combines Goldman Sachs' over 150 years of expertise with intuitive digital experiences, focusing on value, transparency, and simplicity for its millions of customers.
The Role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and highly motivated Research Manager to join the research team in our London office. Reporting to the Research and Insights Lead, this role will manage a broad programme of market and consumer research across multiple markets, delivering high-quality insight that informs customer, product, brand, and communications decisions. The successful candidate will combine strong qualitative and quantitative research expertise with excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills, translating evidence into clear, actionable recommendations for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the NPS programme, reporting opportunities to improve the customer experiences
- Lead the brand tracking programme across relevant markets, monitoring performance over time and translating findings into clear implications for the business.
- Lead research supporting Consumer Duty requirements, including UX research, journey testing, and communications testing to assess customer understanding and outcomes.
- Manage Marcus Community, the internal research panel, including participant recruitment and engagement, research activity design, fieldwork, and analysis.
- Own and manage an evolving research calendar across multiple markets and concurrent projects, prioritising activity in line with business needs.
- Lead end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research, from scoping business questions and selecting appropriate methodologies & agencies through to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.
- Deliver a varied portfolio of research, including product concept testing, customer journey and UX research, proposition development, communications testing, and marketing creative testing.
- Present clear, actionable insights and recommendations to key business stakeholders, ensuring the customer voice informs strategic and commercial decision-making.

Experience and skills:
- At least five years’ experience in market or consumer research, with a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
- Experience working within a research agency is preferable but not essential.
- Proven experience working with a broad range of senior and cross-functional stakeholders, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decisions.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise qualitative and quantitative evidence into clear, commercially relevant insights and recommendations.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to different audiences.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using survey platforms and analysing data in Excel or similar tools is desirable.
