Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life, through 3 ways:

Are you passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred care at the end of life? Would you like to play a vital role in helping Marie Curie close the gap in end-of-life care for people living in Scotland's rural and island communities?
We're looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community-based overnight service across Argyll & Bute, including our rural and island communities.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients and families when they need support most, helping people remain within their local community during their final days. About the Role
Working overnight in patients' homes, you will provide high-quality, holistic care to people approaching the end of life, helping them remain comfortable, supported and cared for in the place they call home.

This role covers communities across Argyll & Bute, with travel of up to 40 miles from your home address required. Due to the unique geography of the region, there will also be occasional overnight stays to support patients and families in our island communities, ensuring everyone has access to the high-quality end of life care they deserve.

What we’re looking for
- Minimum 6 months’ experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
- A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach
- Confidence working independently overnight, while remaining part of a wider clinical team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information
What’s in it for you?
- Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) plus generous enhancements
- £26,696 - £28,988 per annum pro rata
- Contract: Permanent, Part Time – 18 hours per week (2 overnight shifts per week, between 10.00pm – 7.00am, across 7 days)
- Location: Community-based, working from home and travelling within a 40-mile radius across Argyll & Bute.
