Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a role where you can make a real difference when it matters most?
We are seeking caring and empathetic Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated team here in Glasgow, delivering exceptional end-of-life care to people across Glasgow City delivering our Hospice Care at Home service. In this rewarding role, you'll provide vital support to patients and their families in the comfort of their own homes, helping them maintain dignity, comfort, and quality of life during some of life's most challenging moments.
What You Will Be Doing
- No two days are the same. Working independently and alongside colleagues, you'll travel throughout the community, providing personalized care tailored to each individual's needs and circumstances. Your kindness, professionalism, and ability to build meaningful connections will have a lasting impact on those we support.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you'll deliver hands-on personal care, assist with medication, support daily living activities, and, where required, help with meal preparation. You'll be part of a fast-paced service supporting people recently discharged from hospital, those with palliative care needs, and individuals approaching the end of life.
- Working closely with District Nurses, Health and Social Care Partnership teams, hospice colleagues, and wider multidisciplinary professionals, you'll play a key role in ensuring seamless, compassionate care. While much of your work will be supporting patients in their own homes, there may also be occasions where you'll provide support to teams within the hospice environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
