WE’RE RECRUITING | Marine Civil Engineering Operative
Cooks Marine Services is looking for an enthusiastic, practical individual to join our team and build a career in marine civil engineering.
Based from our head office in Hurley, Berkshire, we work predominantly across the non-tidal River Thames, delivering specialist marine civil engineering projects for both commercial and domestic clients.
This is an opportunity where attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as previous experience. You don’t need to be the finished article.
We provide comprehensive in-house and external training to help the right person develop their skills and progress within the industry.

The role is varied and can include:
- Piling operations
- Crane operations
- Welding and fabrication
- Tug and safety boat operations
- General site installation works
Previous experience in marine construction, civil engineering, plant operations or a similar environment would be useful, but is not essential.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Practical, positive and willing to learn
- Comfortable working outdoors and on site
- Reliable and keen to develop new skills
- Able to travel to our Hurley base or directly to sites
- In possession of a full UK driving licence

We invest heavily in training and development, with opportunities to gain CSCS, CPCS and NPORS qualifications, SSSTS/SMSTS training and specialist water-safety and boat handling training.
