Job Purpose
We are looking for an experienced marine professional to provide technical claims support, processing, and advising on multinational and multi-layered claims focusing on all classes of business within Marine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that claims are valid, processed, and paid within agreed timescales and provide value-added claims service to clients.
This is a permanent role based in our London office with the option of a hybrid working arrangement and offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our broking and client services teams, as well as a global network of offices. It provides a strong balance between personal career development, exposure to a varied portfolio of emerging market business classes, and engagement with international clients. Key Accountabilities
- Oversee, manage, and coordinate a complex portfolio of Marine claims, including, but not limited to Hull & Machinery, Builders Risk, Cargo, Specie, Aviation, Crew PA, and P&I.
- Upload and manage ECF entries and non-bureau related tasks.
- Monitor claim progress from notification to resolution, ensuring all parties meet contractual, regulatory, and service-level requirements. Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with Lloyd's minimum standards and FCA/PRA regulations.
- Act as claims advocate for clients, negotiating with insurers, TPAs, adjusters, and legal representatives to support favourable and timely outcomes.
- Engage with stakeholders ensuring regional nuances, document standards, and regulatory requirements are fully understood and met.
- Liaise with colleagues in both the London and overseas offices to provide a consistent and collaborative claims service.
- Maintain up-to-date claims records and data accuracy across internal systems in line with Lloyd’s and company-market requirements.
- Participate in client reviews, renewal preparation, underwriter, and broker meetings.
- Receive new claim notifications and assess coverage against policy terms and conditions.
- Negotiate claim settlements within delegated authority limits and appoint experts where necessary.

Skills & Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of Marine claims is essential.
- Sound insurance experience is desired.
- Previous experience of managing claims at all stages of the claims lifecycle.
- Strong working knowledge of the (re)insurance market and London systems – Class/ECF/IMR.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage expectations and messaging.
- Ability to stay organized and able to prioritize/re-prioritize workloads.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Knowledge of Eclipse and/or SharePoint is advantageous.
