About the Company

At bp, we're reimagining energy for people and our planet. Our Shipping and Maritime teams play a critical role in safely transporting energy around the world, supporting reliable operations while advancing our transition to a lower carbon future.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced electrical engineering professional to join our maritime technical team. This is a unique opportunity to provide technical leadership across a modern fleet, influence industry best practice, and help ensure the safe and reliable operation of critical marine electrical systems.

You will be the Electrical SME for marine electrical power generation, distribution, automation and operational technology (OT) systems across bp-operated vessels. You will provide technical leadership, assurance and governance to support safe, compliant and high-performing vessel operations. Working closely with shipboard teams, vessel managers, equipment manufacturers and industry partners, you will help deliver reliable performance of complex electrical infrastructure while supporting digitalisation and cyber resilience initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative approach and a passion for improving operational reliability and safety within a maritime environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
