The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated Maritime Engineer to join our growing Maritime Team across Scotland and the North of England.
Working alongside structural, civil and geotechnical engineers, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of maritime and marine infrastructure projects, from advisory and concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
This role is ideal for an engineer with relevant industry experience looking to develop their career. You will work alongside experienced senior engineers, with opportunities to take responsibility for projects, engage directly with clients and stakeholders, and support the development of graduate and early-career engineers.
Our projects span port and harbour development, offshore renewable energy, defence, passenger transport, waterfront development and coastal resilience, providing a varied and rewarding workload across the UK.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will have access to specialist expertise across the business, offering excellent opportunities for technical development, professional growth and career progression.
Your responsibilities will range from design activities to project management tasks including:
- Deliver projects from masterplanning and concept through to detailed design and construction.
- Produce and review maritime engineering designs, calculations, reports, drawings and digital models.
- Undertake inspections, condition surveys and technical assessments.
- Develop technical details and sketches for CAD and Revit.
- Support specifications, contract documentation and project management.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.

Is this role right for you?
We Are Seeking The Below Skills And Knowledge
- BEng, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent).
- Experience designing and delivering maritime or related infrastructure, such as bridges, retaining structures or waterfront developments.
- Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS 6349 and relevant industry standards.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
- Confident working with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to programme.
Desirable
- Experience in port, harbour, shipyard or coastal infrastructure.
- Experience with quay walls, piled jetties, dolphins or heavy-lift slabs.
- Experience using structural or geotechnical finite element analysis software.
