Truestone LLC, an Akima company, is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician III to provide critical Shipboard AIT, Integration and Testing Support. This position supports the C4I Testing, Integration, and Installation (CTII) and CIVMAR programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in maritime environments and be capable of executing complex technical evaluations and installations aboard active naval vessels.

Responsibilities

  • System Integration & Testing: Executes advanced technical tasks, troubleshooting, and system evaluations in support of the CTII program.
  • AIT Operations: Provides dedicated Alteration Installation Team (AIT) support for major shipboard projects, including ongoing efforts aboard the USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74).
  • CIVMAR Support: Delivers specialized engineering and technical support customized to the distinct operational requirements of the CIVMAR program.
  • Safety & Hazard Mitigation: Strictly adheres to site Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and demonstrates high situational awareness when operating in hazardous spaces, such as handling heavy shipboard blastproof doors.
  • Operational Reporting: Maintains highly accurate daily logs, tracking progress and cross-referencing task completion with ship supervisors and prime contractor representatives.
  • Schedule Adherence: Works within tight sprint schedules, occasionally accommodating intensive overtime or modified workweeks (e.g., 4x10s and 2x8s) to meet rigid shipyard deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Technical Experience: Significant progressive experience in shipboard engineering, C4I integration, electronics, or related maritime technical fields.
  • Clearance & Credentialing: Must be a US Citizen with a current Interim Secret or Secret clearance. Must successfully complete all HireRight system checks and maintain up-to-date badging for access to highly secure military installations, including NNSY.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to safely navigate complex shipboard environments, including steep ladders, tight compartments, and heavy watertight hatches.
  • SCA Compliance: Thorough understanding that this is a Service Contract Act (SCA) covered position, requiring strict adherence to accurate timekeeping and labor reporting.
