Job Type: Permanent

Location and flexible working: Edinburgh. All our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. Salary and benefits: From £95,000 dependent upon experience plus an indicative bonus range of 16% to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

The role

The Strategic Supplier Management team is responsible for the management of c.£100m of spend across a varied supplier base, we support Retirement Solutions and Asset Management and wider Group functions, in delivering strategy and customer outcomes.

You will be responsible for the commercial management, governance and optimisation of market data services across the organisation, acting as the central point of expertise for market data suppliers, contracts, licensing and usage controls, ensuring that business areas have access to the data they need whilst delivering value for money, managing risk and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations.

You will be responsible for leading the governance, commercial management and optimisation of market data services along with overseeing market data inventory, licensing, supplier relationships and usage controls, ensuring compliance and value for money. Working closely with Investment teams, Finance, Procurement, Change and key third-party suppliers, you will drive effective supplier relationships, challenge demand, identify optimisation opportunities and support strategic initiatives across the market data landscape. You will also drive continuous improvement by enhancing governance, identifying efficiencies, monitoring market developments and helping shape the future market data strategy and operating model.

What we’re looking for

  • A strong commercial awareness with excellent stakeholder management skills and a practical understanding of market data services
  • Be comfortable operating in a complex environment, balancing commercial, operational and regulatory considerations whilst building strong relationships across multiple business areas
  • Experience managing market data suppliers, vendor relationships, contracts and licensing agreements
  • Strong supplier and contract management expertise, including commercial negotiations and renewals
  • Budget management, spend analysis, financial reporting and cost optimisation experience
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify efficiencies
