Market Data Engineering Team Lead

Location: London Hybrid Working

I’m currently working with a leading global commodities trading organisation that is looking to hire an experienced Market Data Engineering Team Lead to drive the strategy, architecture, and delivery of its enterprise market data platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who combines strong technical leadership with hands-on engineering expertise and a deep understanding of market data platforms. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of market data services, working closely with Trading, Risk, Quant and Technology teams to build scalable, high-performance data solutions that support critical business functions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing Market Data Engineering team while remaining technically involved in architecture and key engineering decisions.
  • Define and execute the market data engineering strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Design and deliver a modern market data platform supporting both real-time streaming and batch data processing.
  • Drive the development of a unified market data model to simplify vendor integrations and improve downstream data consumption.
  • Own the operational stability of the market data platform, including BAU support, incident management and continuous improvement.
  • Manage integrations between market data platforms, ETRM systems and downstream trading and risk applications.
  • Partner with Quant Engineering, Trading and Risk teams to ensure market data supports pricing, analytics, valuation and risk models.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for market data architecture and engineering across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
