Market & Business Development Team
The Market & Business Development team plays a vital role in growing Scotland’s visitor economy by connecting Scottish tourism businesses and experiences with the travel trade and distribution channels used by target visitors. Through market insight, industry partnerships, and business development activity, the team helps increase the visibility and sale of Scotland’s tourism products in key domestic and international markets. Their focus is on driving sustainable tourism growth that delivers economic benefit across Scotland while supporting responsible, year-round, and geographically dispersed visitor experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Market Development Managers in the delivery of a programme of key account management amongst North American and Australian Tour Operators and Travel agents using the key account matrix model, to ensure new responsible tourism products are included in their Scotland programmes.
- Gather market insights, trends, and intelligence on an ongoing basis for the designated markets and support the completion of regular updates for the News from the Marketplace and visitscotland.org, as well as alerting the wider team to any immediate opportunities or challenges.
- Support the implementation of the North America & Australia market development team plan, working with the wider team to identify key accounts across the markets that have potential to grow their Scotland programmes aligned to VisitScotland’s strategic objectives.

- Contract Type: 12 month FTC
- Salary Grade: Grade C, (£31,006 - £33,175)
