Market Development Manager – Urology & Oncology

Location: UK

Territory: UK & Ireland / assigned market

Sector: Diagnostics / Life Sciences

Role Type: Full-time

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a global diagnostics organisation on a confidential search for a Market Development Manager to support the growth and adoption of an established portfolio within the urology and oncology market.

This is a commercially focused role sitting at the intersection of market development, sales, clinical engagement, and strategic marketing. The successful candidate will take ownership of developing the market within their territory, working closely with commercial, marketing, and operational teams to identify opportunities, build demand, and translate market insights into revenue growth.

A key focus will be the development and adoption of solutions supporting bladder cancer diagnosis and clinical decision-making, working with stakeholders across urology, oncology, clinical laboratories, and the wider healthcare community.

The role would suit someone with a strong scientific background who is equally comfortable engaging with clinicians and KOLs as they are with commercial teams and molecular laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic market development plans across priority segments, identifying market opportunities, competitive activity, customer needs, and growth areas.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to develop and execute the local go-to-market strategy.
  • Partner with local commercial leadership to translate global strategy into effective, customer-focused sales and marketing activity.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the relevant technology and product portfolio, providing scientific and commercial support both internally and externally.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with urologists, oncologists, clinical laboratory professionals, KOLs, and other relevant healthcare stakeholders.
  • Act as a scientific and clinical point of reference within the local medical community, particularly around bladder cancer.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including tenders, strategic accounts, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Conduct regular customer and market visits to gather insight, build relationships, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor local market performance, competitor activity, and business trends, adapting plans where required.
  • Work collaboratively with Global Sales, Global Marketing, and wider business functions to ensure strong alignment between global and local priorities.
  • Contribute to annual sales and marketing planning, including budget development and execution.
  • Lead relevant market development projects and ensure effective communication and follow-up across internal and external stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
