Market Director – Insurance

Lead the strategy and growth of a major Insurance Partnerships business

Hoffmann Reed are working on behalf of a major outsourced pensions provider to appoint a Market Director – Insurance into a highly influential senior leadership role.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the strategy, commercial performance and client agenda for a significant Insurance Partnerships market. Working alongside the Managing Director and wider senior leadership team, you’ll develop and execute a scalable growth strategy while helping to influence the direction of the wider pensions business.

You’ll combine strategic leadership with commercial execution, building senior client relationships, developing sustainable new business pipelines and bringing together cross-functional teams to deliver against ambitious market priorities.

The opportunity

You’ll:

  • Create and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Insurance Partnerships market.
  • Drive performance against key business measures, including revenue, profit and cashflow.
  • Strengthen strategic relationships with existing clients while developing a sustainable pipeline of new and renewal business.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market share and influence future product and service strategy.
  • Become a visible senior representative within the market, developing relationships with clients, prospects and key industry stakeholders.
  • Lead client relationship management and ensure teams across the business remain aligned around client priorities and commitments.
  • Develop relationships with independent trustees, third-party evaluators and industry bodies to maintain a strong understanding of market developments.
  • Work across functional teams to improve scalability, efficiency and operational delivery.
  • Lead and develop client, sales and revenue enablement teams while influencing a broader cross-functional leadership group.
  • Create alignment across commercial, operational, consulting, transformation and support teams.
  • Promote strong conduct and a consistent focus on positive outcomes for clients and members.

What we’re looking for

This opportunity will suit an established leader from the Insurance Partnerships or wider pensions market who combines strategic thinking with a strong record of commercial delivery.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant leadership experience within Insurance Partnerships or the wider pensions industry.
  • A proven track record of business development and delivering value for clients.
  • Experience operating within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to develop strategies that grow and protect market share.
  • Credibility with senior clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of the market and an ability to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Experience bringing together cross-functional teams around common strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Strong change and conflict management capability and high emotional intelligence.
  • An entrepreneurial, curious and solution-focused approach.
  • The judgement and experience required to navigate complex commercial and client challenges.
