Join a high-impact delivery role at the center of Corporate & Investment Bank–wide market launches, helping bring new capabilities to clients in a compliant, scalable, and client-ready way. Covering Payments, Lending (Banking), Markets, and Trade Finance, this position sits within Payments Operations while operating across a broad, cross-line-of-business program.

As a Vice President within Market Expansion Operational Readiness team, you will be responsible for driving delivery across assigned workstreams, supporting governance forums, and translating strategic priorities into executable plans (roadmaps, timelines, and dependencies) across multiple lines of business. You will coordinate with key partners (Operations, Client Service, Implementations, KYC, Legal, Compliance, local market teams, Product, and Technology) to manage dependencies and escalations, and to ensure first-line ownership of controls and documentation from current-state assessment through future-state design.

Job responsibilities

  • Drive market expansion operational readiness workstreams, standards, and execution, ensuring consistent application across new-market entries and all CIB lines of business in scope.
  • Support the lead in cross-functional, cross-LOB steering forums and drive execution on scope, sequencing, risk acceptance, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage the integrated portfolio plan and critical path across all in-scope LOBs functions, aligning with Product and Technology; remove blockers and escalate RAIDs to protect milestones.
  • Support definition of go-live readiness criteria, including client impact, operational SLAs, control design, and regulatory compliance, with clear exit/entry gates applicable across all lines of business.
  • Contribute to the design of the target operating model for new-market expansion, including design, controls, capacity planning, and support model across Firm wide utilities, LOB Operational teams, Client Service & Onboarding and others, spanning Payments, Lending (Banking), Markets, and Trade Finance.
  • Drive metrics and benefits tracking for market launches; provide transparent reporting on readiness, risk, and performance against plan to the Ops Readiness lead and senior stakeholders.
  • Drive change management, communications, and training to ensure operational adoption and client-ready execution at launch across all lines of business.
  • Guide and support cross-functional, cross-LOB teams through the operational readiness milestones; set expectations for delivery and promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and control discipline within the Ops Readiness team.
  • Drive and own the end-to-end delivery of market execution against the Market Expansion Operational Readiness Playbook.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
