Position Overview
This is a senior market-facing consulting role focused on helping financial services clients reimagine work through AI.
The Director will shape sales cycles into compelling commercially robust transformation engagements.
This role demands an experienced Director who can:
- Work with business leaders alongside technology, data, risk, and change teams.
- Identify measurable AI value opportunities.
- Frame change cases.
- Shape technical solutions.
- Lead pursuit teams to successful wins.
This is not a technology sales role—rather, it is a business transformation leadership role where AI serves as a catalyst for redesigning processes, improving performance, and building trust in responsible deployment.
Role Objective
To develop AI opportunities into won client engagements by:
- Shaping business-led propositions.
- Influencing senior stakeholders.
- Creating solutions that increase revenue, reduce cost, improve customer satisfaction, and lower risk.

Develop value cases and transformation roadmaps to guide clients in prioritising AI investments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Opportunity Shaping & Sales Leadership
-
Own end-to-end shaping of AI transformation engagements, from client need to signed agreements.

Develop opportunity hypotheses based on:
- Client context
- Sector trends
- Competitive pressures
- Regulatory drivers
- Known business pain points

Craft differentiated win themes and client propositions to demonstrate measurable business value.

Lead the development of RFPs, SOWs, commercial models, delivery plans, and executive decks.

Work with account teams, client partners, and service line leaders to qualify opportunities.

Push back and refine client requirements—aligning them to business-led transformation (not tech-led requests).

2. AI-Enabled Business Transformation
- Help clients redesign work across operations, customer service, claims, underwriting, lending, financial crime, compliance, risk, finance, tech, and relationship management.
- Identify AI-powered redesign opportunities in:
- Processes
- Decisions
- Controls
- Knowledge work
- Customer interactions
- Colleague experience
Advise on AI application architectures, including:
- Agent-led workflows (task automation and approval orchestration)
- Supervised orchestration agents (multi-tool, multi-team coordination)
- Operational agents (pre-approved optimisers)
Support responsible AI adoption by ensuring considerations for:
- Regulatory compliance
- Model risk management
- Data governance
- Ethical implementation
3. Client Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

Build trusted relationships with financial services stakeholders in:
- Business operations
- Technology
- Data
- Risk
- Compliance
- Transformation functions

Convince executives to shift from AI interest to AI investment.

Simplify complex AI concepts for business leaders—focusing on value, risk, feasibility, and change.

Influence decision-making through storytelling, structured problem-solving, and commercial insights.

Position EY as a credible AI advisor in the financial services space.
4. Internal Leadership & Collaboration

Mobilise cross-functional teams across:
- AI/GenAI
- Data

Partner with delivery leaders to ensure practical, responsible, and profitable solutions.

Essential Experience
-
15+ years in consulting (preferably at Big 4, strategy consulting, or tech transformation firms).

Extensive financial services experience with deep knowledge of:
- Sector commercials
- Operations
- Regulatory landscapes
- Tech environments

Demonstrated track record in:
- Shaping and winning complex transformation proposals (e.g., RFPs, propositions, senior-led sales cycles).
- Applying AI, GenAI, automation, and data to business transformation.
- Developing value cases, roadmaps, operating models, and delivery frameworks.

Proven ability to:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in high-stakes pursuit environments.
- Engage with C-level executives.
- Balance the needs of business, tech, data, risk, and operations.
