Job Title: Seasonal Grower
Start Date: March/April 2026
Hours: 24 or 32 hours a week Monday-Friday
Salary: £12.71/hour (possible help with accommodation)
Contract Length: 7 months (until November 2027)
Probationary Period: 2 months

Ed’s Veg is a three acre fixed-bed agroecological market garden in Liphook on the borders of Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey. We grow vegetables for wholesale to shops and restaurants and run a small box scheme. We also grow field scale row crops on another local site.
We are seeking another part-time seasonal Assistant Grower to join the team between March/April and November. You’d be working in a team of 6 part time growers, we work hard but also look after each other and get along well.
The role includes all aspects of vegetable production including sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting and packing. We are ideally looking for someone with several seasons of experience on an agroecological farm or someone who has recently completed an apprenticeship. The role would include on the job training but would also include working independently and taking on responsibility for certain aspects of the farm.

Employment
Wage: £12.71/hour PAYE incl. statutory holiday pay, sick pay and pension contributions. The position is for a fixed term contract of employment from March/April to November with potential for some winter employment.

Hours
Either 24 or 32 hours a week over 3 or 4 days a week.

The farm is on the edge of a village called Liphook, about 20 minutes walk from Liphook station. Getting around the local area is easiest with a car, or by bike for a keen cyclist. We are about an hour by train from London and 30 minutes by car from the south coast.

Essential Skills/Traits
- Good work ethic and physical fitness for manual work
- Experience from previous roles and/or traineeship on agroecological farms or similar
- Ability to work fast and to a deadline, ability to cope under occasional periods of high pressure.
- Ability to work well with others, as well as independently
- Reliability
- Good organisational and problem solving skills
- An interest in nature and the environment
Desirable Skills/Traits
- Some experience with operating farm machinery/tractors
- Driving licence
