Job Title: Market Research Lead
Function: Strategy & Business Architecture
Location: Hybrid Worker – Expectation is two days per week on site at our Nottingham office
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: Offered on a starting salary of £65,920 with the potential to increase to £77,553 over the course of three years. Plus, a car allowance of £7000 per annum.

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Market Research Lead to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Market Research Lead to help shape the future of NHS Supply Chain through powerful insight, evidence-based decision making, and a deep understanding of customer and stakeholder needs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the organisation's research and insight agenda, ensuring the voice of customers, stakeholders and the wider healthcare system is embedded in strategic thinking and business planning. You will play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for improvement, measuring impact, and turning complex findings into meaningful actions that enhance performance across the organisation.
Leading a team of two Market Researchers, you will champion research excellence, innovation and continuous improvement, while ensuring the business has access to clear, actionable insight that drives better outcomes for customers, patients and the NHS.
Every day you will…
- Lead and evolve our research and insight strategy, ensuring stakeholder and customer perspectives inform key business decisions.
- Be the organisational expert for customer satisfaction (CSAT) and stakeholder experience measurement, embedding best practice approaches that provide a true and trusted view of performance.
- Design and oversee high-quality quantitative and qualitative research programmes that generate robust, actionable insights.
- Monitor emerging trends across healthcare, procurement, customer experience and stakeholder needs, translating findings into strategic recommendations.
- Work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the business to identify research priorities and evaluate the impact of improvement initiatives.
- Develop engaging dashboards, reports and presentations that bring data and insight to life for audiences at every level.
- Foster a culture of evidence-based decision making, ensuring insight drives action and measurable outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Market Researchers, creating a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Establish and maintain research governance, quality standards and best practice methodologies across the organisation.
- Build and nurture a vibrant research community that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
- Significant experience leading market research, customer insight or stakeholder research programmes.
- A strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and their practical application.
- Experience translating complex data and research findings into compelling business recommendations.
- A proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organisational change through evidence and insight.
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior leaders and executive audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing, coaching and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to make insight accessible and actionable.
- Knowledge of customer satisfaction, stakeholder experience and performance measurement frameworks.
- An interest in healthcare, public sector research, or complex stakeholder environments would be advantageous.
