About the Role
The Market Intelligence Analyst researches and analyzes market, dealer, customer, competitor, and industry information to provide actionable insights that support strategic and business decision-making.
Reporting to the Manager, Market Intelligence, this role monitors market developments, identifies risks and opportunities, and develops insights and resources that help stakeholders understand the external landscape and make informed business decisions.
Outcomes and Activities
- This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to our Southfield, Michigan office may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at our Southfield, Michigan office if requested by the team member.
- This position is available in three regional assignments: Northeast, Southwest, and West. Each hire will serve as a dedicated partner to the sales teams within their assigned region.
- To ensure alignment with business needs, employees must work core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the local time zone of the region they support, regardless of where they reside.
Responsibilities
Market Research and Monitoring
- Monitor market conditions, dealer dynamics, customer trends, competitor activity, products, pricing approaches, industry developments, and emerging trends.
- Gather and evaluate intelligence from internal and external sources.
- Support research related to strategic initiatives, market opportunities, and business priorities.
- Maintain awareness of developments that may affect dealers, customers, competitors, or the broader industry.

Analysis and Insight Development
- Analyze market, customer, dealer, competitive, and industry information to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business implications.
- Develop market assessments, competitor profiles, dealer insights, SWOT analyses, and intelligence summaries.
- Translate research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
- Support executive summaries, presentations, and ad hoc analysis for leadership and business partners.
Market Insights and Business Resources
- Develop and maintain market briefs, competitor comparisons, dealer insights, differentiation resources, and intelligence summaries.
- Document competitor strengths, weaknesses, positioning, and key market developments.
- Support stakeholders with timely market research, competitive intelligence, and insight requests.
Reporting and Knowledge Management
- Maintain market research libraries, competitor databases, intelligence repositories, and tracking tools.
- Support recurring market intelligence reports, dashboards, and market updates.
- Ensure intelligence resources remain accurate, organized, and current.
- Identify opportunities to improve research, reporting, and knowledge-management processes.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, Analytics, Strategy, and other stakeholders to understand intelligence needs.
- Gather field observations and stakeholder feedback to strengthen competitive insights.
- Communicate relevant findings clearly and in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least two years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, Business Analysis, Sales Strategy, Product Marketing, Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into concise, actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and common reporting or analytics tools.
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Sales, Strategy, Product, Marketing, or go-to-market functions.
- Experience with market research, competitive intelligence, business intelligence, or analytics platforms.
- Experience developing business reports, presentations, or executive summaries.
- Automotive finance, financial services, fintech, or related industry experience.

Compensation
- Targeted Compensation: $75,000 – $87,500 base salary + annual bonus plan
Notes
- This position is not currently open to individuals who require sponsorship now or in the future to work legally for Credit Acceptance, such as H-1b / H-4 or F-1 OPT visa holders.
