MUST:
5–10 years in financial exchange operations, financial market operations, or trade desk support, including experience managing a direct report (given raises, given feedback, hired, fired, etc)
Strong experience with things like:
- Monitoring market health
- Monitoring our market makers making sure good liquidity is on the books
- Managing our retail flows
- Market and trade surveillance
- Wash trades
- Spoofing
- Layering
Ability to be hands-on with client onboarding and the technical integrations that come with it (the customer starts with us and comes in through FIX or the internet. Conformance testing and certs, have our software development kit, make sure clients can interact properly with exchange. Institutional clients like Fidelity, Robinhood)
Deep understanding of exchange market structure, order book mechanics, and trading rules across spot and/or derivatives markets
Trading/order book experience: What we need is someone who understands the order book before trades happen

Experience with some sort of customer communication system like HubSpot to communicate changes to products and other things
BI experience (they use Looker) + can communicate with data and engineering teams
Experience with UAT testing – bug fixes etc. roll through us, update specs, familiarity with networking and packet capture tools (Wireshark) to troubleshoot member connectivity with engineering
Experience managing institutional client or Member relationships at a senior level
Experience handling high-severity market events + working fast-pace environment
Working knowledge of FIX Protocol (customers coding their FIX engine to ours, send log-ons, proper sequencing)
Exposure to both traditional financial markets and crypto/digital assets strongly preferred
PLUS:
- Interest or experience using AI/LLM tools to drive operational improvements
DAY TO DAY:
- Lead day-to-day Market Operations for a high-growth financial exchange, overseeing market health, liquidity, trading activity, and market surveillance while managing a distributed team across the U.S. and U.K.
- Own Market Operations Protocols (MOPS), desk coverage, incident response, and escalation management, while monitoring for activity such as wash trading, spoofing, and layering.
- Partner closely with product and engineering teams on UAT, bug resolution, requirements and specification updates, and product roadmap initiatives.

- Serve as a key operational partner throughout the client lifecycle, supporting onboarding, technical integrations, conformance testing, certifications, and SDK adoption to ensure institutional and other clients can interact effectively with the exchange.
- Develop analytics and reporting that provide visibility into market health and client activity, communicate product and operational changes across teams, and work closely with Technical Account Management, Product, Engineering, and leadership to resolve issues and continuously improve the platform.
