About Tata Technologies
At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers.
Tata Technologies’ PLM / Digital Enterprise Solutions (DES) business partners with global automotive OEMs and manufacturers to transform product development through PLM, CAD, BOM & configuration management, digital thread, engineering analytics and enterprise integration/data platforms. Sustained growth in this space depends on anticipating where the market is moving like software-defined vehicles, electrification, agentic AI, model-based engineering, cloud PLM and data-driven engineering and converting those signals into credible, differentiated offerings ahead of the demand curve.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Market Research Consultant to act as the research and strategy engine for the PLM team. The role will systematically track automotive, manufacturing and technology trends, OEM investment priorities, competitor moves and platform vendor roadmaps, and translate them into a credible solution backlog, compelling use cases, consulting-grade presentations and eventually qualified sales opportunities.
The role is research-led but outcome-driven. The incumbent will not simply report on the market, they will build the evidence base, business cases and narratives that enable Sales and Delivery leadership to open new conversations, shape proactive proposals and win differentiated work with OEMs across the UK, Europe and other regions.
This is an onsite UK-based position. The role requires regular face-to-face presence at TTL and customer locations in the UK Midlands to build trusted relationships with OEM stakeholders, participate in discovery workshops and leadership sessions, and represent Tata Technologies at UK and European industry forums. Candidates must hold an existing right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
Market & Technology Research
- Continuously track automotive and manufacturing industry trends including electrification, software-defined vehicles, model-based systems engineering, digital thread, sustainability/compliance, cost and cycle-time pressures, and regional market dynamics.
- Monitor the technology landscape across PLM, CAD, ALM, ERP/MES integration, cloud, data platforms, analytics and AI/agentic capabilities, including vendor roadmaps (Dassault Systèmes, Siemens, PTC, SAP and adjacent players).
- Analyse OEM annual reports, investor presentations, technology announcements, job postings and public programme information to identify investment direction and unmet needs.
- Maintain a structured, reusable knowledge base of research findings, sources, evidence and insights accessible to the wider practice.
Solution Backlog & Use Case Development
- Translate market and client needs into a credible solution backlog of offerings, accelerators, consulting studies and service propositions for the PLM team.
- Author compelling use cases articulating business problem, proposed solution, capabilities required, benefits, KPIs and indicative effort/value.
- Work with Solution Architects and Product Owners to validate technical feasibility, delivery approach and reusability of proposed offerings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
