Job Description:
About the role:
As Market Research Head, you will shape how insights drive decisions across Takeda’s IBU organisation. You will lead the evolution of market research strategies, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and innovative approaches that translate insights into impactful actions.
You will act as a trusted partner to the Dermatology business, supporting a key launch product by delivering meaningful insights that guide strategic decisions and improve speed to action. This role plays a central part in advancing Takeda’s insight-to-action ambition while driving simplification and continuous improvement across market research practices.
How you will contribute:
- Lead and standardise market research methodologies across therapy areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and faster delivery of insights
- Guide and support colleagues across the Insights & Analytics network, building capabilities and strengthening best practices
- Define clear standards for insight generation, storytelling, and knowledge sharing to maximise reuse and business impact
- Manage vendor partnerships and budgets, optimising cost, quality, and efficiency across projects
- Drive innovation in market research, leveraging new technologies (including AI) and alternative delivery models to enhance insight generation
- Ensure governance and adoption of consistent processes, tools, and reporting standards across markets
- Partner closely with the Dermatology team to shape and deliver an insight strategy aligned with business priorities and launch needs
- Provide a strong external perspective, bringing forward customer and market insights to challenge thinking and enable better decisions
- Coordinate competitive intelligence activities and promote a proactive, self-service approach to market monitoring

What you bring to Takeda:
- 8–10+ years of relevant experience in market research, insights & analytics, commercial excellence, or related functions, including significant hands-on delivery of primary market research and interpretation of insights to inform business decisions
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree (e.g. MBA or MSc) preferred. Fluency in English required
- Proven experience operating across multiple markets within pharma/biopharma or a similarly complex, regulated environment, with a strong understanding of commercial strategy, product lifecycle, and launch dynamics
- Track record of driving harmonised ways of working, scaling best practices, and embedding new methodologies across regions or teams, including vendor consolidation and process optimisation
- Ability to engage, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams without direct authority, acting as a trusted partner in shaping strategic decision
- Strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights, with a focus on enabling decision-making, prioritisation, and measurable business impact
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrix organisation, balancing competing priorities, managing budgets, and aligning stakeholders across global, regional, and local levels
- Experience selecting and managing research agencies and partners, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and fit-for-purpose methodologies across diverse project types
- Curiosity and drive to explore new approaches, including digital tools and AI-enabled methodologies, to enhance insight generation and efficiency
- Ability to synthesise complex information into clear, compelling narratives tailored to executive audiences, supporting faster and better decision-making
