Worker Status
SELF-EMPLOYED
You will be responsible for your Tax and National Insurance contributions.
Hours and Shifts
You will be required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, to be worked across these shifts. Note: Commitment to a shift would mean working the entire duration of that shift.
Monday-Friday shifts:
- 9am-11.45am
- 9.30am-12.15pm
- 12pm-2.45pm
- 1pm-3pm
- 3pm-5.45pm
- 6pm-8pm
Saturday shifts:
- 10am-12.45pm
- 1pm-3.45pm
- 4pm-6pm
Training dates:
22nd and 23rd September 2026, 10am-1pm
Start date for interviewing:
24th September 2026
Note:
YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE TRAINING DATES AND ABLE TO START THE NEXT DAY.
Hourly rate:
£12.71 per hour (+holiday pay at 12.07% worker contract)

Acuity Research & Practice Ltd is a market research company specialising in social housing research and delivering first-class service to our clients who wish to understand their resident’s opinions and needs. We are commissioned by social landlords to contact their residents and carry out customer satisfaction surveys. We do NOT carry out ‘cold’ calls or sales calls.

Job Description
Using your own computer / laptop (no Macbooks or Chromebooks please), headset and internet connection, you will be making calls through your computer and conducting surveys through our online systems. Full training is provided on the use of these systems as well as interviewer training.

We work on a variety of different survey topics from repairs, complaints, anti-social behaviour issues, and general satisfaction. You will receive a full briefing on every survey you work on.
You will be connected (through Microsoft Teams or an alternative) to the CATI Team and the wider Interviewer teams for support, help, and guidance. You will be given support and feedback.
This is a self-employed role, invoicing Acuity on a monthly basis. A contract will be provided for signing at the start of the work.
Who We Are Looking For
Experience:
Experience in a telephone interviewing / customer service role is essential, and Acuity will provide full market research interviewing training and support.
Requirements:
In order to apply for the role, you must have a computer / laptop (Windows only, with adequate specification), a good secure broadband connection, and a headset. Public broadband is not permitted.
Skills:
We are looking for applicants with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can work evenings and Saturdays.
The main skills are focusing on the needs of the customer, remaining impartial yet supportive, listening to residents’ issues, capturing information succinctly and accurately, and the strength of character not to take offence when residents are impolite.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in a market research service / call centre environment / telephone customer service
- Experience using computers and Microsoft systems
- GCSE English and Maths
- Strong IT skills
- Other languages desirable to translate surveys
Skills and Abilities
- Good communication and people skills, confident telephone manner
- Fluent in written and oral English essential (and other languages desirable)
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Good typing skills
- Self-motivated, with ability to organise and plan own work
- Ability to work within deadlines
- Ability to input data accurately and maintain office data systems
- Ability to use own initiative when appropriate and refer to manager when in doubt
