What role will you play?

As part of our global Market Risk team, you will work closely with traders and business stakeholders to understand, measure and oversee market risk across a broad range of financial and commodity markets. Through analysing risk exposures, challenging assumptions and applying quantitative tools, you will help provide independent risk oversight and support informed decision-making. You will contribute to the assessment of new products and activities, collaborate with colleagues across global risk teams, and play an important role in ensuring risks are understood, monitored and managed effectively. Reporting to a Market Risk Manager, you will engage with stakeholders across the business and gain exposure to a diverse range of asset classes, trading strategies and market environments

What You Offer

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify practical solutions to complex challenges.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to a range of stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly, alongside a degree in an analytical discipline.
  • An interest in financial markets, trading, economics or commodities, and experience using technology and AI-enabled tools to support analysis and decision-making

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
