Key Responsibilities

Do you have a quantitative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment?

We are looking for someone like you to:

  • Monitor market developments and the firm’s Equities risk exposures, ensuring risks are accurately measured, clearly understood, and appropriately controlled.
  • Engage with Trading and Senior Management to discuss, challenge, and review trades, risk positions, and emerging risk themes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in projects, contributing risk insights and analytical expertise as required.

The Team

The role sits within the London-based Market Risk team, located on the trading floor and forming part of the broader Market Risk Control organisation. The team oversees the firm’s Equities trading portfolios. In this position, you will provide independent and comprehensive market risk views to management and collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple functions, including Trading, Risk Control, Finance, Quantitative Analytics, Business Management, and Operations.

Your Skills and Experience

  • An interest in financial markets, supported by experience in Market Risk and a solid understanding of key market risk concepts, methodologies, and metrics.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply quantitative techniques to real-world challenges.
  • Ability to communicate complex or technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Highly numerate, with excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working within a global team environment.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently while taking ownership of deliverables.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You’re curious to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment, validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
