Market Risk Manager
Location: London | Sector: Energy & Commodities
I’m working with a leading international energy and commodities business that is looking to appoint a Market Risk Manager into its London team.
This is a commercially focused market risk role sitting close to the trading and commercial businesses, with responsibility for managing and analysing commodity price exposure, developing hedging strategies and providing market insight to senior stakeholders and clients.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and managing commodity price risk and customer positions
- Developing and implementing effective hedging and risk management strategies
- Producing market analysis, price views and forward curve assessments
- Analysing supply, demand and fundamental market data
- Performing quantitative modelling and portfolio analysis
- Monitoring portfolio performance and market exposures
- Working with trading, commercial, settlements and technology teams
- Providing market and risk insight to internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting the development of risk management tools, processes and reporting

The background
I’m particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience across energy, commodities or wholesale markets, ideally with exposure to:
- Market Risk / Price Risk
- Commodity Trading Risk
- Energy Risk
- Hedging and derivatives
- Natural Gas and/or Power markets
- Physical and financial commodity products
- Quantitative market analysis and modelling
