I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Will You Be Doing?

We’re looking for someone to take the reins on HLA’s day-to-day marketing. You’ll be the person keeping our LinkedIn active and engaged, our website current and our leadership team in the loop on what’s working and what isn’t. This will not be a role where you come into shadow, you will need to step up and own it!

No humanitarian sector experience required just solid marketing instincts and understanding, comfort working independently and a willingness to ask questions when something’s unclear.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • LinkedIn Planning and positing content on a regular cadence of 3 times a week, every week – sharing newsletters, magazine content and sector updates and keeping engagement active and moving.
  • Newsletters and magazine Helping pull together content for our regular newsletter and the quarterly Logistics Response Digest magazine, working with contributors and subject experts.
  • Website Keeping pages current from membership pages to general content updates and flagging anything that needs technical fixing with the leadership and website development team.
  • Reporting Keeping an eye on Google Analytics and LinkedIn analytics and pulling together a simple monthly update each month so the team knows what is working and what isn’t.
  • Ideas Bringing fresh thinking to how we present ourselves – we’re a small team and love collaboration and new ideas!
