Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Marketing Analyst, based in Manchester, with flexibility for part-time work from home. The Marketing Analyst will collect, analyse, and interpret marketing and sales data to support campaign planning, performance tracking, and business decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Building dashboards and reports
  • Monitoring key performance indicators
  • Identifying trends and opportunities across channels such as SEO, paid search, email marketing, social media, and web analytics
  • Collaborating with marketing, sales, development, design, and leadership teams to provide actionable insights, optimise marketing budgets, and recommend data-driven strategies
  • Helping validate A/B tests
  • Segmenting audiences
  • Monitoring customer journeys
  • Ensuring data quality and consistency across tools and platforms
  • Analysing website performance, user behaviour, conversion rates, landing pages, and traffic sources to identify opportunities for improving website engagement and lead generation

A good understanding of website development and management will be important for this position. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with website-related technologies and platforms, including CMS systems such as WordPress, and have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, website structure, SEO, and user experience. They will work closely with technical and development teams to understand website performance and translate technical and analytical data into practical marketing recommendations.

The role requires a combination of marketing knowledge, analytical thinking, digital marketing expertise, and an understanding of website development, with the ability to turn data into clear recommendations that contribute to business growth.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical capabilities, including experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and data visualization platforms.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics, with the ability to measure campaign performance, track KPIs, analyse trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, paid search, email marketing, social media, and web analytics.
  • Knowledge of website development and management, with an understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS platforms such as WordPress, and basic website structure and functionality.
  • Ability to analyse website performance, user behaviour, traffic sources, conversion rates, landing pages, and other website-related metrics.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and how website structure, content, technical performance, and user experience can affect search visibility and conversions.
  • Familiarity with website analytics and performance tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and other relevant platforms.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of sales metrics and marketing funnels, with the ability to connect marketing activities to revenue, customer acquisition, and business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and data tools, including Excel and Google Sheets; basic SQL or BI tools would be an advantage.
  • Experience with dashboards, reporting, A/B testing, audience segmentation, data validation, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies, trends, and opportunities within large datasets.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with marketing, sales, development, design, and leadership teams.
  • Experience working in a digital marketing, technology, web development, or IT environment would be highly beneficial.
